Classical Chinese Face Reading - £55

The face is influenced by 7 generations of behavioural patterns & life challenges. Our features develop & show constitutional strengths & weaknesses. Our health is reflected in our changing faces in many ways. Face reading can help us better understand the people we are looking at.

About The Event

The Chinese have observed faces for thousands of years & related these traits to certain characteristics. It’s understood that the two sides of the face differ & react to situations at different speeds. The right side which reacts faster is known as the mask, the side we see first when we look at someone. This means a smile may only happen on one side, but we see it as a smile, even though the person may not really be smiling on the inside. Learning to see the left side of someone’s face will give a clearer picture of what they are feeling, a window to what is really going on, on the inside.

Features develop depending on what the past seven generations have been exposed to, ears, noses, lip form, jaws, chins, face shapes all indicate a tendency to certain behaviours & abilities. They may reflect environmental surroundings which have affected the individual’s family over many can come & go. Discolouration of skin can indicate a problem with certain systems within the body, as can puffiness or swelling.

One of the uses of face reading in China was when a young couple were selected for marriage & the parents wanted them to be as well suited as possible & have the most complementary genetic match. They are aiming for the best quality grandchildren they can get.

Clinically, after asking questions, the pulse, tongue & aspects of the face are important tools when wanting to diagnose a condition using Classical Chinese Medicine.

During the class we will learn the initial steps of how to read a face & how to relate all characteristics. Using the Yin/Yang concept of Classical Chinese Medicine, we will then look at each feature, consider its variations & how these relate to the Five Phases (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water). We work in groups & discuss what we observe.

Face Reading is a useful tool when working with people, it helps us see how individuals tend to function, whether they are more emotionally led, more practical or more intellectually analytical. This allows us to connect to them or inspire them in ways which they can process more easily.

Either way, the class is fun & useful to all. I feel everyone should have an insight into this ancient art.
