Rapeseed Oil comes from the black seeds of the rapeseed plant, Brassica napus, the same Brassica family as broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower. The plant produces sunny, yellow flowers around springtime & as we look out over spectacular views of the countryside, you will see the golden fields brightening our beautiful landscapes. (Perhaps not so wonderful & welcomed by our hay fever sufferers!)
With so many oils available all the hype about Coconut Oil at the moment, we wanted to tell you why we choose to use Rapeseed oil.
Rapeseed Oil along with Linseed are the only oils grown and bottled in the UK. Being based in the UK, we feel strongly that we should support other UK based companies & products. Also there are no commercially grown crops in the UK which are GM.
Many people are now recognising, celebrating & promoting rapeseed oils culinary & nutritional benefits. It has the lowest saturated fat content of any cooking oil & is rich in Vitamin E, Vitamin K and Omega-3, 6 & 9. This also makes it a superb oil for external use as it supports repair, softens, increases elasticity & strengthens the skin as a whole.
